Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I'm Adele Cavaliere (Instagram @adelefitmomof4). I'm a nutritionist, fitness+yoga trainer, and published author. I live in Toronto, ON.

What's your baby's name and how old is he/she?

My youngest is Cristian and he is 5 months old! As funny as it sounds - I am a huge fan of Christian Bale!!!

How would you describe yourself in one word?

SuperMOM.

What was your pre-baby weight?

130 lbs.

What was your weight before giving birth?

156 lbs.

What is your weight now? And what is your ideal weight?

135 / 130 lbs.

Could you please share with us your top five secrets of bouncing back so fast after baby?

  • Avoid sugar and processed foods
  • Include exercise whenever and however you can!
  • Drink lemon water first thing in the morning
  • Eat smaller meals more frequently throughout the day
  • Don’t sweat the small stuff!

Are you breastfeeding right now?

Yes.

What do you like about breastfeeding and what you don’t enjoy much?

I love the bonding experience with baby and knowing he is getting the best nutrients possible.

Eat & Drink

Tell us your typical meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

  • Oatmeal with flax and cinnamon + 1 hardboiled egg
  • Green apple, 10 almonds
  • Arugula/avocado salad + salmon + sweet potato
  • Veggie sticks + papaya + pumpkin seeds
  • Steamed veggies + lean protein + 1oz dark chocolate

Any special food/snack/drink during this special time to boost milk supply?

Avocado + papaya + oatmeal + salmon + flax.

How much water do you drink per day?

6L including herbal tea.

Exercise

When did you start to exercise after giving birth?

6 weeks PP.

What exercise did you start with for postpartum? And what exercises do you do now?

Light cardio + Barre Strength training + yoga + circuit training

How many times do you work out per week, and how long per day?

5x/week 20-45 minutes.

What is the most effective workout you recommend?

Any workout is better than no workout! Circuit training allows for more calories burned in a short period of time and can be done from anywhere with no equipment.

How do you find time to exercise as a new mom?

With baby or while baby is sleeping.

Sleep

What time do you go to bed and get up?

I don’t sleep! I have two kids under 2!

What coping mechanisms have you found to be helpful with regard to lack of sleep and fatigue?

Eat balanced and regular meals. Avoid sugar! Include green tea matcha. Exercise + meditation. Cat naps during the day.

What does motherhood mean to you?

Motherhood means never having to be alone! To experience life in your babies eyes and wish them all that life has to offer. Seeing my kids do well, makes me feel like I am doing something right! Motherhood is an adventure that never ends….every moment is a last moment – so enjoy every little bit of it, no matter how hard it may feel at the time.
