The Miles Still Mine — Lauren Ross, Runner & New Mom
Lauren Ross is a runner, a registered dietitian, and a new mom. Nine weeks after giving birth, she laced up her shoes and started over — five minutes at a time. This is her story of returning to the roads, trusting her body, and finding that the miles were still hers.

FAQs
What makes Sweat & Milk different from a regular sports bra brand?
Sweat & Milk is built specifically for nursing and postpartum bodies, not adapted from a standard activewear line.
Every bra is designed with nursing or hands-free pumping access built into the support structure itself, so you're not choosing between function and fit.
We're a woman-owned, minority-owned, small-business-certified brand designed in Los Angeles.
Do your bras work for both nursing and pumping?
It depends on the style. Our High Impact and Medium Impact nursing bras are built for one-handed nursing access during workouts.
Our Hands Free Pumping Bras are a separate, dedicated category designed to hold pump flanges in place hands-free.
Several styles (like Océane 4) combine both nursing and pumping access in one bra — check each product page for which functions a specific style supports.
How do I know what size to order if my chest size has changed since giving birth?
Nursing and pregnancy bodies fluctuate, often more than standard sizing accounts for.
We recommend using our Bra Finder quiz and printable measuring tape before ordering, and re-measuring if it's been more than a few weeks since your last fitting — milk supply changes and postpartum swelling both affect band and cup size.
Most women fit between sizes as your milk supply fluctuate during the day. You may need two sizes depending on your needs. Smaller size fits more snug and is great for higher impact activities, and larger size fits more relax and is ideal for lounging around.
As a general note, our bras run more generously than brands like Nike or Lululemon.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. US standard shipping is $8.99 (free over $100).
Canada is $15 First Class (free over $200). International is $19.99 First Class (free over $200).
Duties, taxes, and customs fees are the customer's responsibility and aren't included at checkout. Orders ship within 1-3 business days.
What is your return and exchange policy?
You have 30 days from your order date to start a return, and approved returns must ship within 7 days. Items need to be unworn, unwashed, with tags attached, in the original zip bag.
To keep the exchange process simple and fast, we do not process direct exchanges. If you'd like a different size, color, or style, simply initiate a return through our Returns Portal and select Store Credit as your preferred refund method.
If you add Checkout+ at purchase, return shipping labels are covered; otherwise the label cost is deducted from your refund (no fee if you choose store credit or an exchange instead). Full details are on our [FAQ & Return Policies page].
Is Sweat & Milk a small, woman-owned business?
Yes. We're a woman-owned, minority-owned, small-business-certified company founded in 2016 in Los Angeles, and we've served over 500,000 customers.
How soon after giving birth can I start wearing your activewear to exercise?
This depends on your individual recovery, delivery type, and clearance from your OB or midwife — most providers clear light movement around 6 weeks postpartum for vaginal births and longer for C-sections, but this varies person to person.
Our pieces are designed to support you at any stage, from gentle postpartum walks to a return to higher-impact training once you're cleared.
Do you carry sizes for larger busts or plus sizes?
Yes. We carry a dedicated Plus Size collection, and several of our core bra styles are built with fuller-bust support in mind — not just sized up from a smaller pattern.
Our Venice collection (Venice 1, 3, and 5) is a high-impact, full-coverage line built for fuller busts, with sizing up to XXL.
What makes Sweat & Milk's bras different from other nursing brands?
A few things, beyond nursing and pumping access:
we use the same premium fabric as major activewear brands, sourced from the same factories.
Most of our bras have adjustable hook-and-eye bands with up to 2 inches of adjustment — which matters more than it sounds, since it lets you loosen or tighten the band as your chest changes hour to hour with milk supply, and it's especially useful if you have a fuller cup size on a smaller ribcage, a common fit challenge for nursing moms that most standard sizing doesn't account for.
We've fit-tested our patterns on real moms of different body types more than 20 times to get the fit right, and we're still refining.
Even small details — like using smoother, seamless hook-and-eye closures instead of the standard kind — are built to avoid chafing.
And we design every style to actually look good, not like medical wear, because feeling confident postpartum matters as much as function does.
Do your bras run true to size?
Based on fit feedback from over 1,300 verified customer reviews, 76% of customers find our bras true to size, 14% find they run small, and 10% find they run large — fit varies more by support level than by brand overall. If you're between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up rather than down, especially in our High Impact styles.
Are Sweat & Milk bras compatible with breast pumps like Willow, Spectra, or Pumpables?
Yes — our nursing and pumping bras are designed to work with both wearable pumps (like Willow) and traditional flange-style pumps (Spectra, Pumpables, and similar).
Check the individual product page for the specific access style, since compatibility details can vary slightly by bra.
