Tell us a little bit about yourself

My name is Jennifer Pisz, and I'm a Writer/Producer (@DANCELENDS) I have a 12-month old baby girl named Siena. We live in Los Angeles.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Breastfeeding Diet

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Are you breastfeeding/Did you breastfeed, if yes, for how long?

We’re transitioning from breastfeeding to cow’s milk now. My goal was to make it a year and I’m weaning at her pace.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

What do you like about breastfeeding and what you don’t enjoy much?

I feel fortunate we’ve had a great breastfeeding relationship but I found it difficult to make the shift to my body being a source of nourishment and not belonging entirely to me. It felt different from pregnancy. I missed little things – like being able to wear certain clothes. But that pales in comparison to the logistics of things like organizing travel and jury duty. I’ve been shocked and enlightened as to how far we have to go as a society to be supportive of nursing (and non-nursing) mothers and care-givers and unfortunately had some pretty awful experiences in that respect. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]

What exercise did you start with? And what exercises do you do now?

Low-impact exercises and yoga.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Six or seven weeks – after I was cleared by my doctor.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Tell us your typical meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Whatever I can grab quickly![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

How do you find time to exercise as a new mom?

Running around with Siena is my exercise! But I try to fit in yoga and dance class when I can.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]

Sleep

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

What time do you go to bed and get up?

Usually in bed around midnight, 1a. Up around 6:30.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

What coping mechanisms have you found to be helpful with regard to lack of sleep and fatigue?

Leaning on my partner and lots of coffee.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]

Tell us what your typical day look like

Every day is different. My husband and I both freelance so we take turns working and caring for our little girl full-time. I try to make the most of our days together, taking her to classes and exploring the city and doing most of my work when she’s napping or after bedtime. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

What do you enjoy the most as a mom?

Seeing her grow has been the most incredible thing. She’s brought so much joy into our lives. I’m just amazed by her every day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
